Benefits all day long! Conference check-in begins at 8 a.m. with coffee and pastries. Registration also includes lunch, snacks, and the Celebration Reception after the conference. We strongly recommend that at least two persons from your organization attend the conference to cover the rich variety of sessions.

Keynote Speaker “Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future” Tom Ikeda, Founding Executive Director of Densho: The Japanese American Legacy Project-Seattle. Ikeda tells how the computer has created new opportunities for involving youth in history and heritage. He describes how the Internet gave Japanese Americans who were interned during World War II a way to tell their painful, personal stories.

Excellent Presenters! Lorraine McConaghy, member of the conference planning committee, will offer three sessions in Track One on Oral History and Research Strategies. Dr. McConaghy is the award winning historian at Museum of History & Industry and an instructor at University of Washington. Throughout the day, you'll have the chance to hear from dozens of local archivists, historians, website developers and educators - truly the best in the West!.

Report on an exciting exhibit opportunity! Registrants for the conference will qualify to apply for a special exhibit project following the conference. Amanda Swain, Interim Director of Humanities Washington, will describe how up to ten organizations will be selected for a workshop series resulting in history panels for the selected organizations.
